Spa Day

Today we had our day off so we took a trip to Petchuvit Spa & Resort!

We just chilled, ate nice food and swam all day. A well deserved and needed break!

WFFT Wildlife Hospital & Sanctuary

On Sunday we arrived at the WFFT Wildlife Hospital in Petchaburi, Thailand. We will be staying here until January 13th. Everyday we get put into small teams of 3/4 people, with one team leader. The groups are Primates 1/2, Bears 1/2, Nocturnals and Other Wildlife. I have been made a Team Leader for the Primates 1 group and Courtney a Team Leader for Primates 2. 

Everyday we wake up at 6am, prepare baskets of food for over 50 primates, do water rounds, clean enclosures and make enrichment activities for them. It's hard work but it's definitely worth it! 

The other volunteers here are really friendly- most of them have English as their second language however I find myself constantly switching between English, German and Thai and Courtney between French and English! Very confusing! 

We get lunch and dinner here everyday, the food is ok but sometimes cold. However we are always starving so it doesn't make much difference.

Also, I got chased round the jungle by the creature from hell today... 

MBK and French Bulldogs!

This morning we checked out of our hotel and checked into our new hotel on Khao San Road, just for one night. We are right on the front and apparently the music is extremely loud at night so tonight should be fun! Currently we are sitting on Rambuttri Alley, eating Pad Thai (Courtney has pasta)!

This afternoon we took a tuk tuk to Siam Square, the shopping centre of Bangkok. It is more high fashion shops than cheap cheap stalls compared to Banglumpoo area. We had a nice look round and got lost in MBK (a giant sized Merry Hill) and also found some cute French Bulldogs!! 

On my Instagram and Facebook there is a video of the three dogs playing football together!

We will be leaving for Petchaburi tomorrow at 10am, expect no wifi for a while!

Phangan to Bangkok

Yesterday morning we swapped the beaches of Phangan for the chaos of Bangkok once again. We left Phangan at 6am and arrived in Bangkok yesterday night at 11pm...

The sunrise in Phangan was ace...

We stayed at a hotel near Khao San last night and then this morning we have moved to a hotel directly on Khao San Road which has a rooftop pool!

We have left the RealGap group now and are on our own again, which we are both quite happy about because it means we have more freedom over what we do. 

Sam is staying at NapPark hostel again tonight with Morgan from our RealGap group, as they both fly out from Bangkok airport tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning me and Courtney are being picked up at 10am from the hotel and will travel to the animal sanctuary for a month! 

Koh Ma and Sunset

This morning we took a taxi across the
island to Koh Ma. An island with a sand stretch across to it. The water was crystal clear and we swam there for a few hours and caught some crabs. 

Then we found a cafe on the beach that did Irish coffee shakes which were really good...

There was also a nice sunset tonight on our beach!

So tomorrow morning we leave at 5.45am for a 15 hour coach journey back to Bangkok. We have one night at a hotel on khao San road then we have booked another hotel for Saturday 13th Dec, we are being picked up on Sunday morning at 10am. 

And we made another fire on the beach this evening!
