Brisbane (Reunited with Gemma!)

After leaving Hervey Bay, we took the bus further south to Brisbane, where Gemma picked us up from the transit centre and took us to our hotel. We checked in and showered before heading out for dinner. Gemma took us to Eat Street, a huge food market with decent priced food of all different cuisines.

We loved it! Luke chose to have a gourmet minted lamb burger, while I had Hungarian garlic bread with toppings (a huge pile of toppings).

We then went and got iced tea- so good! A litre of tea each.

Then dessert! A donut, with an ice cream centre, and a Nutella syringe!

Afterwards, Gemma drove us to Mount Coot-tha to see the view of the city. Luke found a bape car (and a possum).

The view was pretty cool too (but the possum was my favourite).

The following morning, Luke and I took a stroll to the train station to catch the train into Brisbane city centre. On the way, Luke spotted this badboy.

Not nice.

We found our way into Brisbane easily and went to the Gallery of Modern Art (known as GoMA). There was a Japanese art exhibition on, which was really cool.

We took a walk over to the city botanical gardens, finding a lizard and stopping for lunch on the way. As usual, Luke took loads of good photos.

The day after, we returned to the city to shop. We mainly bought presents for family and souvenirs. (Oh, and brownies.)

Dinner was a stroll to the mcdonalds opposite our hotel after watching Big Momma's House, a new one where Trent is grown up and disguised too- pretty funny.

This morning, we ate porridge in bed, before getting up and checking out, and saying goodbye to Brisbane city.

We got a taxi back to the transit centre, where we had KFC and waited for our bus to Surfers Paradise.

The bus journey was ok. It was only an hour and fifteen minutes, and I slept for most of it. We arrived and got a taxi to our hotel. Our room is pretty cool, like a mini apartment!

We took a walk down to the beach, and in a few of the shops, before heading to Max Brenner's, a chocolate dessert restaurant that Gemma recommended (and we weren't disappointed).

Luke had a chocolate brownie (of course!) with a white chocolate and waffle hot chocolate, while I had an Easter themed (hence the egg shape) white chocolate sponge with mango and coconut, with strawberries and chocolate fondue and a white chocolate chai latte!

After splurging on desserts, we headed to Coles and bought microwave meals for dinner. Tomorrow we're going to a huge theme park called Dreamworld- which looks absolutely amazing!
