Dreamworld and Movieworld!

Two theme parks.
Two people.
Two days.
DONE.

It's been tiring, but we did it.

We started with Dreamworld, Australia's biggest theme park. The rides were pretty good. We conquered 'the big 8' and almost threw up on the Kung Fu Panda ride.

The big drop was... Well it was a big drop. And the tower of terror was a backwards rush. The motorcoaster was fast but oddly positioned. You had to lean forward on a motorbike and the bar pushes down on your back, ouch. Tailspin sucked. You have wings to make yourself spin but we just couldn't get the hang of it. The claw was an egg whisk ride, so good. Cyclone is hidden up a corner and soooo difficult to find but worth the walk to the front of the queue. Wipeout is, like Pandamonium, stomach churning. Seriously we nearly threw up after Pandamonium though.

Oh and we found a tiger. We walked to the viewing point and we couldn't see anything and we were like 'why is there an empty tiger enclosure?'

And then we spotted it.

Then we rode the log flume and got... Damp? It wasn't too bad. Not soaked.

And we found the CUTEST baby turtles.

And we saw koalas and kangaroos. And then Luke pooped himself when we saw an emu. But still managed to get close enough for a photo (of course). And it sounded like it was growling at him.

There was also a barn with sheep and alpacas.

Today, it was Movieworld.

There weren't too many rides, but they were way better than the dreamworld rides. The green lantern ride has the craziest drop ever, and the justice league ride is a laser gun ride (Luke beat me).

The superman ride is SO GOOD.

Then there's the Asylum ride, which is good too. But (as sad as it sounds) our favourite ride was the ghost train. Scooby Doo themed. We thought it was gonna be a sucky little kids ghost train like you get at fairs where it's dark and things jump out while you ride around slowly in a cart- oh no. There are fast drops, sharp turns, unexpected backward drops- it's just SOOOOO GOOD. We went on it twice.

And this time, we got SOAKED on the Wild West themed log flume.

Lunch at both theme parks was an all you can eat buffet. Everyone knows we love food, so you can imagine that 'all you can eat' to us, is a challenge. We can eat a lot. The Dreamworld buffet was $24.99 (approx £13) and it had a salad bar, curries, rice, noodles, roast beef, chicken nuggets, and loads more. Desserts were fresh fruits, assorted mini cakes, jellies and mousse pots, and an ice cream machine. Drinks were included too, unlimited soft drinks and tea and coffee. At Movieworld it was a pizza buffet, this one was $19.99 but $5 for unlimited soft drinks so it worked out the same price. Again there was a salad bar (unlimited cucumber and beetroot is always good). There were loads of different pizzas and a few pastas with different sauces. The dessert section wasn't as good, no fruit! Just chocolate cake and mousses, along with an ice cream machine.

Both of the buffets were officially destroyed by us. And Luke stole nuggets at Dreamworld.

After we got back from Movieworld, we used our day travel passes we'd already purchased, and went to Harbour Town, a shopping outlet. We got there with 45 minutes until it closed so we didn't go in many of the shops, but it's pretty good. They offer extra discounts for tourists if you go to the office and get a tourist card, so that's good, but I only made one purchase (Windsor Smith cleated sole platforms for anyone who's interested) and we got the tram back. Microwave meals for dinner again, theme parks aren't cheap so we have to cut back somewhere!

Here is a random photo of Luke standing next to a poster that says Luke.

And a post wouldn't be complete without a cityscape photo taken by Luke.
