RealGap first few days

Checked into Sawasdeee guesthouse on khao San yesterday- haven't had any wifi so haven't been able to update but currently on khao san in GolfBar with internet :-)

Yesterday we all met eachother and went for a meal which was nice, last night we went out on Khao San road to The Club, which was ok but a bit sweaty.
Today we went on a temple tour and longboat ride which was the best day yet but it has been extremely hot :-( about 35 degrees. We also went to the floating market where there were about 10 billion catfish in the river!

We all had to buy new hippy trousers for the temple tour :-)

Tomorrow we leave for kananchaburi, we might not have wifi for a good 2/3 weeks but I will try contact when possible.

Chinatown

Me and Courtney got a crazy tuk tuk to Chinatown tonight to eat dinner. It was the busiest and most sweaty place I've ever been too in my life.
But the food was good, street seafood; I had curried crab meat and Courtney had prawn fried rice :-)

Day 3

This morning we went down to Rambuttri Alley to get breakfast (about 5 minute walk). Breakfast cost £2 and was pretty nice. We then walked round to the River Kwai which runs through Bangkok.

Following this we walked around the back alleys of Banglumpoo and now we are back at the hostel looking at routes to Chinatown :-)

Last night

Last night me and Courtney went out to get food on one of the side roads off khao San road which was really nice and really cheap - 315Baht for 2 chicken dishes, plain rice and 2 large Chang beers (that's just over £3 each!)

After that we went back to the hostel to find Sam was so drunk already that he had been put to bed at 9pm.

So me and Courtney went out exploring in Banglumpoo and found some really nice allyways full of night life :-)

Ps: there are so many stray dogs here it's crazy, most of them are pregnant :-(

Day 2

Last night we went out into the Sathorn and Silom earlier to find somewhere to eat - unfortunately this area is more of a business area so we were walking round for quite a while, dodging traffick from all directions and avoiding rogue scooters! Finally we found a small thai cafe outside and had food there (we were told there was a "ping pong" show after but we anxiously declined).
(dad- the beer here is awesome)
^Pad Thai and deep friend spring rolls. Pad Thai is now Sam's new favourite food.

The traffic around the Sathorn Ascott hotel was insane.

On the motor way 3 lanes miraculously turns into 5 and it's basically a free-for-all.

As I am writing this we are currently in NapPark hostel in the Banglumpoo district near Khao San. It's a lot busier here but more comfortable and the people are friendlier.
The dorms are cool; enough space and lockers for all our stuff and the staff are really helpful.

Ascott Sathorn Hotel

Room is amazing, two huge double bedrooms and awesome view

Day 1

Arrived at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport at 9.30, greeted by a 35 degree heat which is a massive shock but the people are really friendly and everything is mega cheap.

Currently sitting in The M Bar next to our hotel, waiting to check in at 2pm. (It's 1.21pm here)
