Terminal 21

Still in Bangkok, currently staying at a hostel called Rang Kha Mhin Homestay, last night Luke and I (yes it's Courtney finally writing a blog post!) were in a room with two strangers, one of which was a cool guy from Singapore, and one of which was an odd ginger girl from the Netherlands. The four 'beds' (thin mattresses on a wooden block) are very close together, and despite drawing the curtain for some privacy, Ginger Spice opened it in the night, so I woke up with my face in hers, listening to Luke snore while she looked very angry.

This morning (ok maybe this afternoon) we went for breakfast in the cafe in our hostel. All the food is organic and we had a full English (minus bacon) which was amazing because it had beans.

After a bit of online research, I discovered that we were a 20 minute taxi ride away from Terminal 21, a huge shopping centre designed to feel like an airport, each floor decorated as a different city. We started in San Francisco.

Here we discovered a restaurant with amazing views of the surroundings (including Soi Cowboy... Just google it) and sat down to have lunch.

After lunch, we headed down the escalator to the next city, making a big gold friend on the way.

There were hundreds of small shops in alleys decorated like the cities.

In London, we went to the toilet, which was also decorated to fit the theme, with crazily futuristic toilets.

Luke walked out of the toilets with scarlet cheeks, asking 'Courtney, what does bidet mean?' (Except he pronounced it as 'bid-it') so I knew which buttons he had been pressing!

In Tokyo, Luke treated us to peanut butter cookies which were absolutely amazing, and we posed like the tourists that we are next to a huge lucky cat.

Rome was equally as amazing- again the theme carried on through to the toilets.

Also I had to have a touristy photo next to the Vespa (just for you Dad!)

After leaving Terminal 21, we walked over the bridge to get a taxi back to the hostel.

We were in need of a nap after all the walking we did today, but we just went out for dinner to a restaurant on Rambuttri Alley, complete with a jug of Strawberry Daquiri between us. Tomorrow we need to check out of the hostel, and get to the airport in the evening ready for our flight tomorrow morning. We are both looking forward to a relaxing week in the resort on Koh Samui after 4 weeks of waking up at 6am!
