Luke and I sat on the front of the boat, where the sun doesn't feel as hot because it's so windy, it was so nice!
We then parked up near some fishing boats, and did some fishing. Luke was the only lucky one, he caught two fish, including this one!
We went home, exhausted, before showering and going for Indian food. The following day, Becky, Mark and Helena took Sienna and Belle to the BeachHouse, where there are water slides and bumper boats and other fun stuff, while Luke and I took the tram into Adelaide city centre to do some shopping. The UK definitely needs to get Hungry Jacks, it's so good! We both had a hash brown cheeseburger and died and went to burger heaven.
Then we went to a little cafe and Luke had the best brownie he's ever had (and Luke has eaten A LOT of brownies).
We then went to Steve, Becky and Sienna's house and everyone went in the pool while I sat on a sun lounger attempting to tan my legs a little (in my factor 50).
Luke and his dad spent a lot of time admiring Steve's cars.
Oh, and they have a toy poodle called Marley who is less of a dog and more of a little black cloud.
We had a proper Aussie barbecue on the veranda of the farmhouse.
So delicious. We then took the ute and quad over a tour of the land, before going home, again absolutely exhausted!
Our time in Adelaide was amazing, it's such a beautiful city and we're gonna miss it so so much, but it was time to move on. Our flight to Cairns was at 6am this morning so we had to get up at 4. It was pretty uncomfortable considering I was sitting between a rather large Aussie bloke and Luke, with no room or arm rests, but after two and a half hours, we arrived. Luckily a friendly member of airport staff helped us out and instead of getting a taxi he told us where to go to get the backpacker shuttle bus, which was a lot cheaper, to get to our hostel. We are staying at Traveller's Oasis. We checked in at 9.30 and luckily our room was already ready for us. It's a decent sized room with a fridge, which is handy, but the air con wasn't working, and we had to nap with just the fan and we both woke up absolutely dripping in sweat. We had to wait until 4pm for the reception to reopen as we realised the air con wasn't working around 1pm, and the reception shuts between 12 and 4. We went to the local shopping centre just to cool down in their air con. We then ate at a lovely cafe and had some good food and fresh fruit juices, before coming back to the hostel, where the man from reception fixed our air con straight away (a coin was jammed- it's one dollar for 3 hours of air con, when we thought it was included in the room but hey ho). We don't have our own bathroom, it's shared with a few of the dorms. We only planned to stay in Cairns one night, but we want to snorkel the reef up here so we want to stay longer. Rather than book this hostel, we've booked a private room with en suite for a cheaper price, in a different hostel nearer to the beach for two extra nights. We then get a bus to Mission Beach to spend a few hours there, before catching another bus to be in Townsville by evening. Busy busy busy!
